Does anyone know if it is policy at Walgreens to be carded for buying alka seltzer?

I went into a Walgreens in Chicago and the cashier told me I needed an ID to purchase Alka Seltzer Cold Medicine. I am a 31 year old woman and have never been carded for Alka Seltzer before.
