Ulnar nerve surgery and returning to work?
I had ulnar nerve transposition in the left elbow and went back to work after two days, even though my doctor recommended 6-8 weeks off (I was self-employed and could not afford to take off that much time, but I also worked at home). This is not an easy surgery and you will need a lot of therapy. If you are truly having an ulnar nerve transposition, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you will be able to go back to work the next day. There must be some serious miscommunication between you and your doctor.....if not, then you really need to find a more realistic doctor. If your doctor is telling you that, then run straight to another doctor....you don't want a doctor that is telling you that doing the surgery on your arm. Good luck....I'd really like to know how you make out.
